When evaluating the audiovisual companies out there price will always be an issue - NO DOUBT.
But what else should you look for?
Certification of key staff - Industry standards are very important. Does the company adhere to these strict guidelines and are they active members of key organizations such as SACIA or Infocomm?
Support Structures - The larger audiovisual companies have geared themselves accordingly. They have layers of Project Managers, Solution Architects, dedicated Service staff and Account Mangers with their own support staff to handle your queries.
Global/National Scale - As your company grows, does your AV vendor have the presence to assist you nationally or even globally? Not many do.
Service - A dedicated service department with their own technicians and proprietary software that can be automated to your liking are key for SLA requirements
Technical advancement - Is your AV company on the cutting edge? Can they advise you on critical issues such as convergence, unified communications and Managed Services? Do their staff read industry newsletters such as www.brockman.com, www.wainhouse.com or www.vcinsight.com?
Turnkey Offering - Can they offer you a turnkey solution that includes things such as management software for Managed Services or even bandwidth for signage or video conferencing applications?
