Having access to that CLOUD is powerful stuff. It opens up a whole new world. Video conferencing, Bridging, AV Managed Services and UCC are the next applications that will find their way into the architecture. Centralized Infrastructure could be the vehicle to bring this to the masses and boost the SMME market and Enterprise alike. ISP's are sitting up and taking notice.
ISP's have all the reach and they have the cloud. By placing a VC bridge, desktop conferencing and other server based applications such as AV Managed Services (room management) and UCC (like Microsoft's OCS) an ISP can offer all of these applications for endusers. The model is debatable. Do they charge a set monthly fee or is an ad hoc charge going to open the market? Only time will tell...
It will even find its way into the homes. TVs are coming out with IP connections and VC capability (read LG Executive). Imagine being able to conference your friends from your phone using any format, video (Mobile or TV), audio (phones) or other means. Well it's coming...We live in an "On Demand" society and the consumer will drive the model.
